Frankenocchio is the story of a stringed puppet made by God, who, in a fit of boredom, cuts his strings and the poor puppet plummets to earth where his head and body pop apart.
Being a puppet made by God, the head survives and goes in search of his body who has run off.
The search takes him to a dark and rundown circus where he is adopted by an old alcoholic circus geek who sews Frankenocchio’s head to a procession of animal bodies from the circus, each of which return to the search for his missing body.
The body in question has been found by other members of the circus who have more sinister intentions…
Frankenocchio is a show intended for an adult audience. There are numerous circus related deaths and a multitude of decapitations as well as brief blasphemy. There is also a silent boy puppet at the center of the story who maintains his innocent perspective in a dark, ugly and tangled environment much like our own.
Audiences loved this show.
